About Me

Kate N. Nichols
I was about nine years old when I discovered how great telling stories was. When I made up stories about Uncle Rutabagas for my cabinmates at camp. I don’t remember the stories, but I remember the laughter from the other campers. About the same time, my father read to me great adventure stories like Treasure Island and Swiss Family Robinson. For years I wrote journals that are stashed away in closets. In college, I took journalism and writing courses. I produce a radio show called “Women’s Voices” so I could interview interesting women. I record at the American Museum of Radio and Electricity in Bellingham. The program can be heard on their website or on KMRE 102.3 FM, Saturday evenings at 5 o’clock. I have a sixteen-year-old daughter who just got her driver’s license, two grown sons, who each have a daughter. One son lives in California, the other in Minnesota. When I think about what is satisfying about writing, one primary thing comes to mind: communicating with others. I decided to start a blog to share my experiences with creativity.
